A series of color images and essays in Ukrainian describing the history of the city of Horodenka (Horodenke, האָראָדענקע) southeast of Ivano-Frankivsk in western Ukraine, together with many sites of cultural heritage. The historical section begins with archaeological finds from more than 5000 years ago, but becomes detailed in the 15th century CE and runs to the end of the 20th century; the Jewish community is mentioned as growing significantly under the rule of Mikołaj Potocki in the 17th century, after the city was granted Magdeburg rights. Much of the cultural survey of Horodenka focuses on spiritual life in the city with multiple images of related historic architecture; the 18th/19th-century Great Synagogue is shown, and is also marked on the detailed street map on the front side of this brochure, by Kartografiia of Kyiv.
