A series of color images and brief essays in Ukrainian describing the history of the small but important city of Hlukhiv northwest of Sumy in north-central Ukraine. The civic history features additional essays on the period of the Cossack Hetmanate in the 18th century, highlighting four of the military leaders who lived in the area. Also featured with images and text are several significant architectural monuments including churches, civil government buildings, a 19th-century university, and a building originally belonging to the prominent 17th-century Tereshchenko family of Hlukhiv. The city history timeline largely ends in the 18th century, omitting any mention of the historical Jewish presence in Hlukhiv. The front side of this brochure, by Kartografiia of Kyiv, provides a street map of the city and a regional map highlighting the Hetmanate lands.
