A detailed street map of the ancient city of Chernivtsi (Czernowitz, Tshernovits, טשערנאָוויץ) in southwestern Ukraine, including the district of Sadhora (Sadigora, סאדיגורא) to the north, formerly an independent town famous for its Sadigura Hasidic dynasty. This side of the brochure includes a high-scale map of the city center, and a symbol legend identifying many types of tourist sites and civic services. The map indicates with Stars of David two synagogues near the city center, although the Chernivtsi Jewish cemetery is marked only as municipal, and the Sadhora Jewish cemetery is marked only with crosses. The reverse side of this map, by Kartografiia of Kyiv, provides an extensive street index keyed to the grid on the map, a timeline summary of Chernivtsi history from the 12th century, a lengthy key to the cultural features and civic services of the city, photographs of several landmark architectural monuments, and a district map showing Chernivtsi in relation to nearby cities.
