A series of color images and brief essays in Ukrainian describing the environment and history of the city and district of Volodymyr (previously known as Volodymyr-Volynskyi) in northwestern Ukraine near the border with Poland. The historical section spans from the turn of the first millennium. The only mention of the former Jewish community is the killing of 25,000 Jews during the Holocaust in Volodymyr; the map and essay predate the installation of a significant Holocaust memorial near the center of town. Additional essays give a description of the regional landscape plus a significant cathedral and a 500-year-old convent in a nearby village. The front side of this brochure, by Kartografiia of Kyiv, shows a detailed street map of Volodymyr.
