Starokonstantinov (Starokostiantyniv) History and Cultural Sites 2011

A series of color images and essays in Ukrainian and English (with a brief summary in Polish) describing the environment and history of the city of Starokostiantyniv (אלט-קאָנסטאַנטין) north of Khmelnytskyi in western Ukraine. The historical section spans from the 10th century (for the region) and 16th century (for the city) and emphasizes the development of Starokostiantyniv as a walled fortress city. The Jewish community is briefly mentioned as one of three large ethnic groups populating the area, though the historical survey ends before WWII. An additional essay describes the Samchyky palace and park elsewhere in the region. The front side of this brochure, by Kartografiia of Kyiv, shows a detailed street map of Starokostiantyniv.
