Sambor (Sambir) History and Cultural Sites 2008

A series of color images and brief essays in Ukrainian and English languages describing the history and some cultural features of the city of Sambir (סאַמבאָר) southwest of Lviv in western Ukraine. The history traces Sambir's rise as an economic center in the region, while the cultural section highlights two churches and a local history museum focused on the Boyko ethnic traditions which were prominent in the area. The front side of this map, by Kartografiia of Kyiv, includes a detailed street map of Sambir and a useful road map of the former Sambir district.
