Buchach (Buczacz) History and Cultural Sites 2007

A series of color images and brief essays in Ukrainian and English languages describing the history and cultural features of the city of Buchach (בעטשאָטש ,ביטשאָטש) south of Ternopil in western Ukraine. Featured prominently is a summary of the life and works of S. Y. Agnon, the Nobel Prize-winning Jewish author born in Buchach, and a brief essay on the history and prominence of the Buchach Jewish community with an image of the large Jewish cemetery in the city is included. The front side of this map, by Kartografiia of Kyiv, includes a detailed street map of Buchach and a useful road map of the former Buchach district.
