The historical section mentions that in the 1926 census, the Jewish community made up 20% of the city, more than 10 thousand people. Among the sacred buildings in this list and marked with Stars of David on the map are both the historic Turgenev Street synagogue and the modern Hiimat Rosa synagoue.
