Rohatyn (Rogatin, Rohatin) History and Cultural Sites 2008

A series of color images and brief essays in Ukrainian and English languages describing the history and cultural features of the city of Rohatyn (ראָגאַטין ,ר'טין) between Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk in western Ukraine. Together with Ukrainian, Polish, and Turkish aspects of Rohatyn's history, the prominence of the city's Jewish community in the population is mentioned, as is the devastation of the Holocaust; an image of the old Jewish cemetery is included. Three significant local churches are individually featured, as is a house museum of local lore. The front side of this map, by Kartografiia of Kyiv, includes a detailed street map of Rohatyn and a useful road map of the former Rohatyn district.
