ANNOUNCEMENTS
•	Closing of the Lviv Oblast Archives. According to the Orders signed by Hennadii Boriak, Director General of the State Committee on Archives of Ukraine, the Reading Room of the State Archive of Lviv Oblast is closed to on-site visits by researchers during the inventory process necessitated by the recent theft of valuable documents. It is unknown as to when this Reading Room will re-open. therefore, it will not be possible for the Archives to respond to genealogical research inquiries by e-mail, telephone or fax.
•	Miriam Weiner receives Lifetime Achievement Award

•	Fire at the Kamenets Podolskiy Archives in Ukraine! On April 9, a fire destroyed a significant amount of the historical documents stored in a warehouse of the Kamenets Podolskiy City-State Archive. CLICK HERE for more details. CLICK HERE for images. CLICK HERE for update (pdf)

Availability of Publications

The award-winning book, Jewish Roots in Ukraine and Moldova is now out of print and will not be reprinted. The archive inventory in the book has been updated and expanded for this website. Also, many chapters from the book now appear on this website. The companion book, Jewish Roots in Poland, is still in print. Click here for more information.

The State Committee on Archives of Ukraine has posted the English version of their website which includes contact information for archives throughout Ukraine, a very useful "Q&A" section and a special section for "Genealogy."

Note: there is extensive information on the Ukrainian version of this website which has not yet been translated into English.
